Etopen is Nodoka Haramura's stuffed penguin plushie. She carries him with her during matches, and cannot sleep without him by her side. She also has a swim toy version of him.
He was once ripped apart in a struggle by Koromo Amae and Mai Tanaka, however he was soon fixed by Ryuumonbuchi's butler Hagiyoshi. Before Nodoka's match in the second round of the nationals, he was soccer kicked by Kinue Atago, who later apologized.
Etopen is the main character in a story book about a penguin who wanted to be a tufted puffin.
