Rine Sonezaki is a former president of the Senriyama Girls' Middle mahjong team.
Appearance[]
Rine has long flowy hair and wore the Senriyama Girls' standard uniform.
Personality[]
Rine appears to be blunt, willing to tease Yayoi about her family but also not afraid to call her out for just being a substitute for the regular team. Nevertheless, she still told Yayoi to keep working hard to become a regular.
Plot[]
Joining the Mahjong Team Arc[]
A month prior to Toki Onjouji and Ryuuka Shimizudani joining, she tells Yayoi Yokeguchi that she is close to becoming a regular on the team and to keep it up. She also informs her of Sera Eguchi joining the team.
When Ryuuka and Toki join, she states the clubs goal of winning the prefecture tournament. Rine immediately takes an interest in Ryuuka and even pairs off to play against her. While playing she watches a bit of Toki's game and tells Ryuuka that she is pretty good. It is noted later by Ryuuka that she beat Toki in a later game.
At the tournament, she announces the lineup which she is in the captain position. She is shown helping her team win the first match of the day. In a flashback during the vanguard match, Fuuko Muroto thinks back to when they were picking rosters and her conversation with Rine. She felt a little depressed hearing that if it was on talent then she wouldn't be in the line up. However, Rine likes someone who will set the mood from the start and tells her that she's counting on her.
