The West Tokyo qualification for the 71st Inter High School Mahjong Championships is won by Shiraitodai High School.
History[]
Teru Miyanaga led the team to become the national champion at the 69th Inter High School Mahjong Championships. The school went on to defend its prefectural and national titles the following year.

Episode 20 of the Saki anime uses the manga's venue for the East Tokyo qualification tournament as the venue in West Tokyo. It is not known whether this is an intentional change.
